Augustine School, a Blue Ribbon School and a Top Workplace for five consecutive years, located in Elkridge, Maryland, has an opening for a full-time Guidance Counselor for the 2026-2027 school year . St. Augustine is a single-track PK3 through 8th grade program with 265 total students. The full-time Guidance Counselor will work collaboratively with other Guidance Counselors to serve the needs of students. This person is responsible for sharing the oversight of the cognitive, social, emotional, and behavioral environment of the school through managing student behavior and addressing the needs of students in an age-appropriate manner. Essential Functions Create and implement social emotional lessons for healthy behavioral and academic environment for the development of the whole child. Work with a team in identifying and responding to student learning concerns and create Student Accommodation Plans. Work with the PBIS Team in planning and implementing PBIS initiatives. Interact effectively and respond to all parent communications in a professional and timely manner. Participate in faculty meetings, collaborative planning meetings, retreats, school committees, and in-service learning opportunities. Position Qualifications Master's Degree in Counseling or related field, or currently working towards a Master's Degree in Counseling or related field. Possession of, or willingness to obtain, Maryland School Counselor Certification. Leadership skill to effectively work with parents and teachers. An appreciation for and understanding of the social, emotional, educational, and developmental needs of elementary/middle school children. Supports and upholds Catholic moral and social teaching and the mission of Catholic Schools.
