Hadoop / HPE MapR Engineer#26-05845 Charlotte, NC Phoenix, AZ Irving , TX On-site Contract Starts 6/11/2026 Ends 6/10/2027 Job Description Genesis10 is currently seeking a Hadoop / HPE MapR Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Irving, TX, Phoenix, AZ and Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. In this role, you will design, build, operate, and optimize large-scale distributed data platforms. The focus will be on supporting and enhancing HPE MapR-based Hadoop ecosystems to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability for enterprise data workloads in aplex, production-grade environment.

Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and maintain large-scale distributed data platforms using HPE MapR and Hadoop technologies Support and enhance MapR-based ecosystems to ensure system performance, scalability, and reliability Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve performance and stability issues in production environments Ensure high availability and operational efficiency of enterprise-scale clusters Consult onplex software engineering initiatives with broad organizational impact Analyze and resolve large-scale, multi-faceted technical challenges requiring evaluation of multiple factors, including ambiguous or unprecedented scenarios Collaborate strategically with client stakeholders and internal teams to deliver scalable andpliant solutions Ad to organizational policies, procedures, andpliance requirements while meeting deliverables

Requirements:

5+ years of experience in software engineering, big data, data platform, or infrastructure engineering, or equivalent experience Strong hands-on experience with Hadoop distributions, specifically HPE MapR Deep understanding of distributed systems, data storage, and clusterputing concepts Proficiency in Linux/Unix system administration Experience with at least one programming or scripting language: Python, Java, Scala, or Bash Working knowledge of Apache Spark and batch/stream processing paradigms Proven experience supporting production, enterprise-scale clusters with high availability requirements Experience troubleshootingplex issues in large-scale environments Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, or similar Pay range: $59.53 - $67.53 per hour Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
