Job Description

Job Summary Established Ogunquit fine dining restaurant is seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to lead our culinary team and elevate our dining experience. As the Head Chef, you will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, from menu creation and food preparation to staff supervision and inventory management. Your passion for culinary excellence and leadership skills will inspire your team to deliver exceptional dishes that delight our guests. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the culinary direction of our establishment while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality, and service. This is a year round, full time position. Duties Lead the development and execution of innovative menus that align with the restaurant's concept and customer preferences. Supervise daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient workflow, food quality, and timely service. Manage and train kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment focused on continuous improvement and professional growth. Oversee food production processes, ensuring adherence to recipes, presentation standards, and dietary requirements. Maintain strict inventory control, monitor stock levels, order supplies, and minimize waste to optimize food costs. Enforce food safety regulations and hygiene standards in compliance with local health codes. Coordinate with catering and banquet departments to deliver flawless event menus and service. Implement shift management procedures to ensure smooth transitions between meal periods and special events. Requirements Proven culinary experience with a strong background in fine dining establishments or similar high-end environments. Demonstrated supervising experience with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively. Knowledge of dietary department standards, food handling procedures, and food safety regulations. Strong skills in menu planning, food preparation, kitchen management, and inventory control. Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff and foster a collaborative team culture. Proficiency in managing food production processes from ingredient sourcing to final presentation. Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.
