Exempt About MCC Metropolitan Community College is the oldest public institution of higher learning in Kansas City, Missouri, founded in 1915 as the Kansas City Polytechnic Institute. The Junior College of Kansas City, as it was known starting in 1919, was one of the first schools in the country to award an associate degree. Today, MCC offers 125 associate degree and certificate programs. Metropolitan Community College comprises five campuses on the Missouri side of the Greater Kansas City area 47 major buildings and about 550 acres in all: MCC-Blue River , located in Independence, Missouri; MCC-Longview located in Lee's Summit, Missouri, MCC-Maple Woods located in the Northland of Kansas City, Missouri; MCC-Online and MCC-Penn Valley , located in Midtown Kansas City, Missouri. Job Summary Incumbents coordinate and supervise the operation and personnel of the Men's soccer team. Additionally, incumbent manages fundraising events for the Athletic Department. Essential Functions Coordinate and supervise all operations of the Men's Soccer team(s); work involves but is not limited to scheduling practiceand game schedules; supervising game day setup; purchasing and inventory of equipment and uniforms; completing college travel, purchasing, and expenditure paperwork; maintaining athletic facilities as assigned; and ensuring compliance with NJCAA and MCC rules, regulations, policies and procedures under the direction of the Athletic Director. Manages Department Fundraising Events for the Athletic Department (Golf Tournament, Pickleball Tournament, etc.) under the Direction of the Athletic Director; work involves but is not limited to scheduling events, maintaining financial records, corresponding with venues, and other aspects of event management. Recruit student-athletes for the Men's Soccer team(s); work involves but is not limited to attending games, and showcases to observe and speak to potential athletes; holding tryouts; researching and speaking to high school/club coaches; conducting campus visits and tours; meeting with academic and financial aid departments; and recommending athletic scholarship recipients. Manages the preparation, performance and evaluation of student-athletes; work includes but is not limited to the development of the student-athlete's athletic skills; position specific instructions and training; organizing and managing off/in-season physical conditioning and training; and monitoring student-athletes academic progress. These duties are typically performed with input from Assistant Coaches. Oversees and manages assigned program budget(s); work involves but is not limited to monitoring expenditures; analyzing financial information to budget funds for food, travel, officials, equipment and other operational expenses; maintains fiscal record and processes to ensure compliance with budget and other applicable guidelines. Supports the college's student-athlete success program; work involves but is not limited to collaborating with campus academic and student support services staff; setting up early enrollment sessions, supervising study halls; and monitoring and reporting the academic progress of student-athletes to ensure continuing eligibility to participate and graduate. Prepares and maintains reports, records, payroll, promotional materials, and other documentation; work may involve compiling and analyzing information, and making recommendations based on findings.Supervises assistant coaches to include:
prioritizing and assigning work; preparing work schedules; conducting performance evaluations; coordinating staff training; and implementing hiring, discipline, and termination procedures. Coordinate and supervise fundraising; community service and leadership develop activities; and camps for assigned athletic team(s). Coordinates with housekeeping and facilities staff, tenants, the marking department, and other internal and external staff, departments, and agencies to communicate information, receive student information, promote and market departmental activities, raise funds, and facilitate departmental operations. Maintains a positive relationship with student-athletes, parents, administration, internal and external constituents. Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree• Must possess a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record prior to driving on district business.Preferred Qualifications:
Three (3) years of collegiate coaching experience •Minimum Qualification can be substituted with an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Physical Requirements Positions in this class typically require frequent mobility within campus buildings, on athletic fields or courts, and in the community. Duties involve physical activities such as standing, walking, climbing, crouching, bending, stretching, pulling, pushing, talking, hearing, and visual acuity. The work is classified as medium, requiring the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.Supplemental Information EEO Statement:
