Head Start Teacher Assistant

Duties Assist lead teachers in planning and executing engaging lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and implementing behavior management strategies Facilitate literacy and math activities that promote early numeracy and language skills Provide one-on-one or small group support to children with diverse needs, including those with autism or disabilities Help create a safe, clean, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning Support daily routines such as snack time, bathroom breaks, nap time, and outdoor play Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to foster a collaborative learning atmosphere Requirements Prior experience working with young children in a daycare, preschool, or private school setting Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while supporting individual student needs Relevant certifications such as CPR/First Aid are preferred but not mandatory; ongoing training provided upon hire Join us in shaping bright futures!
