We are an exercise therapy and performance studio located in the heart of San Francisco's SOMA district, working with athletes, high performers, and motivated individuals navigating injury, rebuilding capacity, or pursuing elevated performance goals. We're looking for an Orthopedic Manual Therapist or Soft Tissue Specialist to join our collaborative, neurologically informed performance environment. This is not a traditional massage therapy role. Our coaches and manual therapists share a common language of applied neurology as a framework for movement, motor development, resilience, and performance enhancement.

The Role:
J Bodyworks is seeking a skilled manual therapist to join our clinical team. Our practice is dedicated to helping clients overcome pain, restore functional movement, and improve physical performance. Please note that this is a clinical, rehabilitation-focused position rather than a spa role. We combine orthopedic manual therapy, targeted exercise, applied neurology, and strength and conditioning to deliver lasting results. Our clients include active adults, youth and adult athletes, professionals, and fitness enthusiasts who want to address the underlying factors contributing to their discomfort rather than rely on temporary symptom relief. What You'll Do:
Deliver high-quality, results-oriented manual therapy sessions tailored to each client's needs. Collaborate with staff coaches and practitioners on integrated care plans. Help clients understand their specific movement patterns, biomechanics, and long-term recovery strategies. Maintain organized, timely, and professional documentation. Participate in practice growth by engaging in business development activities and local community outreach. Participate in the practice's continuing education programs and team meetings. Build lasting client relationships through positive outcomes and supportive service.

Schedule & Practice Expectations:
We seek clinicians interested in establishing a stable, long-term career within our practice.
Starting Target:
Build and maintain a baseline of 15 client appointments per week.
Full Schedule:
25-30 client appointments per week. Candidates should be eager to scale into a full clinical schedule and contribute to the growth of the practice.
Preferred Clinical Background:
While formal training in the Hendrickson Method® is highly preferred, we will gladly consider practitioners with strong foundations in: Tuina, Shiatsu, or Thai Massage Acupressure Orthopedic Massage & Structural Bodywork Manual therapies rooted in structural integration or rehabilitation Note on
Training:
Candidates without prior Hendrickson Method® training will receive mentorship, continuing education, and training in our clinical protocols.
Qualifications:
Required:
Active California Massage Therapy Council (CAMTC) certification or equivalent professional licensure. Current CPR certification. Strong communication skills and a professional, reliable mindset. Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred:
Experience working within an orthopedic, sports medicine, or rehabilitative setting. A solid understanding of human anatomy, biomechanics, and movement assessment. Experience treating athletic or active populations.

Compensation:
Pay:
Rates start at approximately $50 per session with structured advancement opportunities tied to education and performance milestones. You will also be compensated at a minimum rate for all non-session hours. This is a W-2 job. Once eligibility requirements are met, benefits are provided.
