We are currently building the practitioner team for the first cohort of our Body & Food Liberation Program, a six-week, in-person program exploring our relationships with food and our bodies through liberation theory and a decolonial lens. We're looking for practitioners who understand how systems of oppression, culture, racism, generational trauma, migration, identity, beauty standards, and lived experience can shape our relationships with food and our bodies. About the Role We are seeking a licensed Eating Disorder Therapist to work alongside a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) during our founding six-week cohort. The therapist will help facilitate the therapeutic component of the program and guide conversations surrounding eating disorders, body image, trauma, culture, identity, and liberation. We are specifically seeking someone who is HAES-aligned, weight-inclusive, trauma-informed, and experienced in eating disorder care. We're especially interested in femmes/women of color whose work is grounded in liberation psychology and a decolonial lens. Schedule & Compensation Six-week, in-person cohort beginning in October 2026 Mondays and Wednesdays 6:00-8:00 PM 4 fixed hours per week / 24 program hours total $100/hour Independent contractor position Located at Rooh Sanctuary in Santa Monica, California Following the program portion each evening, participants will have an additional healing offering from 8:00-8:45
PM:
sound healing on Mondays and yoga on Wednesdays. Practitioners are welcome to stay and participate in these offerings at no cost if they wish.
Qualifications:
Must be a licensed mental health professional in California Experience working in eating disorder care HAES-aligned and weight-inclusive Strong understanding of trauma-informed care Experience supporting individuals with eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image concerns Comfortable facilitating conversations surrounding food, body image, trauma, culture, identity, and lived experience Interest in approaching eating disorder and body work through liberation theory and a decolonial lens Experience working with BIPOC women, girls, and femmes is strongly valued Collaborative, compassionate, and interested in helping us grow a new program This is Rooh's founding cohort, with the possibility of continuing with future cohorts as the Body & Food Liberation Program grows.
