Internal Closing Date:
8/31/2026 Internal candidates must apply by midnight on the Closing Date in order to have bidding rights. Responsible for the setup, maintenance and cleaning of assigned equipment district-wide. Assists the physician with insertion of various monitoring devices, Intra-aortic balloon pump system, arterial/Swab/CVP lines, blood gas analyses; monitoring ECG and pressure readings, and setting up and operating the cellsaver machines. Rotation of hours to Pomerado Hospital and Escondido Surgery Center to perform cleaning and minor maintenance of anesthesia machines as assigned. Performs other tasks as needed such as assisting in PACU, ENDO, OPHA or second scrubbing in the OR. Handles medication or medication administration devices for surgical procedures under the direction and/or supervision of the anesthesia and nursing staff. Participates as a member of the clinical interdisciplinary team to provide care of the patient. Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.
Job Requirements Minimum Education:
Successful completion of Anesthesia Technician program and/or 1 year directly related work experience or LVN or Advanced EMT (EMT-P)/Paramedic.
Preferred Education:
Associate's Degree and/or certification
Minimum:
0•12 months related experience
Preferred Experience:
1•2 years related experience
Required Certification:
American Heart Association recognized BLS•
Healthcare Provider Preferred Certification:
