Houston Methodist is seeking a Sr. Anesthesia Technician to support safe, efficient perioperative care across our surgical and procedural areas. In this advanced role, you will prepare, operate, and maintain anesthesia equipment; set up rooms and supplies; and assist anesthesia providers with patient monitoring, airway management, and procedures. You will ensure strict adherence to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards while mentoring junior technicians. Responsibilities Prepare and set up anesthesia machines, monitors, and related equipment for surgical and procedural cases Assist anesthesia providers with patient positioning, airway management, and intraoperative monitoring Perform routine checks, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance of anesthesia equipment and supplies Maintain inventory, order and restock anesthesia supplies, and ensure equipment readiness Adhere to infection control, sterilization, and safety protocols in all perioperative areas Document equipment usage and relevant information in electronic medical records or logs Support emergency response efforts, including code situations and rapid sequence inductions Train and mentor junior anesthesia technicians and assist with competency development Collaborate with nurses, surgeons, and other team members to coordinate efficient room turnover Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and hospital standards for anesthesia services Required Skills Anesthesia equipment setup and operation Patient monitoring during procedures Sterile technique and infection control Airway management support Equipment troubleshooting and maintenance Inventory and supply management Electronic medical record (EMR) documentation Vital signs measurement Emergency response support (codes, rapid response) Compliance with perioperative safety protocols
