Job Description

JOB TITLE
Therapist, Art Therapist, Dance Movement Therapist
JOB STATUS
Exempt (salaried)
BASIC FUNCTION
: Provides individual and group therapy to individuals diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Provides consultation to staff regarding individuals' issues and concerns. Acts as an individual advocate.
SCOPE:
Ensures compliance with Medicaid/Behavioral Health Clinic (BHC) policies and procedures for therapy services. Maintains caseload as assigned, including clinical assessment, treatment planning, and monitoring of progress.
JOB DUTIES
Provides individual and/or group therapy treatment to individuals, as needed and appropriate. Provides crisis intervention, as needed. Completes all clinical paperwork and billing as required by BHC, DHS, and any governing entities. Attends annual Discovery meetings for assigned individuals and actively provides input, including offering feedback for Implementation Strategies (IS) development. Ensures that individuals and staff are supported concerning individual issues for assigned caseload. Facilitates access to community resources including family services, physicians, and case management. Attends individual, clinical supervision weekly. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related Master's Degree from an accredited university. LCPC, LPC, LCSW, or LSW. Bonus, but not necessary, to have specialized degree/training in providing specified creative arts therapy (art, music, dance/movement).
