Activity Coordinator (IP)

Job Description

Compass Health has an open position for a Full-Time Activity Therapist at our Marksville Inpatient Program. The Activity Therapist assists patients in appropriate levels of care for post-treatment placement and continued follow-up care according to Federal and State Regulations, and Compass Health's Mission. This position also plans, organizes, develops, and administers recreational/activity therapy services to adult and geriatric patients to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is rendered at all times. The Activity Therapist will provide comprehensive assessment, direct treatment to individuals and groups; participation in family and team conferences; participation in quality improvement programs; and documentation of services according to hospital and department standards. This position is supervised by the Clinical Director and CTRS.
Qualified candidates:
Minimum of 2-3 years of mental health related experience in a treatment setting required. At least 1 year of experience working with chronically mentally ill, adult, geriatric, and/or chemically dependent patient populations. Minimum of Bachelor of Science Degree, Master's (preferred) in social work or mental health related field is required for this position. Must obtain CPR and de-escalation certifications within ninety days of employment and maintain current certification continuously thereafter.
