An Art Therapist directs and coordinates recreational activities for people with disabilities or illness to help them improve their emotional and physical well-being, improve motor skills and increase confidence. Leads activities involving art, crafts, and similar activities. Assists patients with disabilities to learn to use public resources such as parks and public transportation, and integrate in the community. Works with people of all ages, in schools, nursing homes, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or in parks and recreation departments.

Join our team for the 2026-2027 school year! ESS Clinical is seeking Itinerant Art Therapists who are dedicated to helping students thrive In Frederick County Public Schools. Apply today to be part of a collaborative and supportive team! Pay up to $71/hr W2 and 1099 options No non-competes in our contracts
Requirements:
Master's degree in Art Therapy from an accredited program required. Current Maryland Licensed Clinical Professional Art Therapist (LCPAT) or Licensed Graduate Professional Art Therapist (LGPAT) license required, or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to start date. Current registration and/or board certification through the Art Therapy Credentials Board (ATCB) preferred.
Role Responsibilities:
Provide services to students and their families facilitating the use of art as a medium of expression, develops appropriate treatment goals and acts as a member of the interdisciplinary team Develop individualized goals and objectives for each student with IEP services, based upon assessment and IEP team recommendation. Implement evidence-based practice treatment plans to meet student IEP goals and objectives ESS Clinical is run by therapists for therapists!
