Category Schools - School Therapist Job Type Contract Step into a vital role supporting student wellbeing as an Art Therapist in a school setting, working across various locations within Frederick County. This contract opportunity runs from August 19th through June 4th, offering a unique chance to foster creativity and healing in the educational environment. As a valued member of the school support team, you'll work onsite with a manageable caseload of 15 students. This part-time role offers flexible, consistent hours—20 hours per week, between 8am and 4pm—making it a great fit for professionals seeking work-life balance while making a meaningful difference.

Key Qualifications:

Active state licensure through the MD Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists is required. Experience providing art therapy in educational or pediatric settings is highly desirable. Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with teachers, staff, and families. Compassionate, creative, and adaptable to the diverse needs of school-aged children.

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver art therapy services to individual students and small groups, addressing emotional, social, and behavioral needs. Assess student progress and maintain thorough records in accordance with school and district protocols. Collaborate with educators and counselors to develop effective, student-centered support plans. Contribute to a positive, inclusive school atmosphere using evidence-based, art-focused interventions.
