In this itinerant position near Mount Airy, MD, youll provide vital therapeutic support to approximately 15 students across multiple locations, collaborating closely with educational teams to help young people unlock their creativity and emotional well-being through art. This contract opportunity runs from now through early June, offering a consistent, part-time schedule at 20 hours per week within the hours of 8 am to 4 pm. As a valued specialist, youll design and facilitate engaging art therapy sessions tailored to a diverse caseload, utilizing evidence-based interventions to address each students unique needs.

What youll bring:

Valid and current state licensure to practice as an Art Therapist Experience as a School Therapist or Art Therapist, preferably in K-12 settings Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, educators, and families Ability to adapt sessions to support varied cognitive, behavioral, and emotional profiles Efficient time management and documentation practices Enthusiasm for creating a safe, inclusive, and creative therapeutic space Your responsibilities: Conduct individual and group art therapy sessions for students on your caseload Develop treatment plans and document progress according to school standards Collaborate with school staff, counselors, and caregivers to foster holistic student support Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on therapeutic goals and outcomes Maintain compliance with school and state reporting requirements Travel between school locations as needed Enjoy the flexibility of a W2 hourly position, earning between $43 and $47 per hour while making a meaningful difference in students lives.
