An Art Therapist directs and coordinates recreational activities for people with disabilities or illness to help them improve their emotional and physical well-being, improve motor skills and increase confidence. Leads activities involving art, crafts, and similar activities. Assists patients with disabilities to learn to use public resources such as parks and public transportation, and integrate in the community. Works with people of all ages, in schools, nursing homes, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or in parks and recreation departments.

Job Description

This position is eligible for a $2,000.00 sign-on bonus. Some restrictions apply. This position includes free supervision to those working towards advanced certification. SERV, a well-established leader in behavioral healthcare in New Jersey, supports people with mental illness and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities as they achieve greater independence and life satisfaction through a wide range of services.
JOB SUMMARY
We are currently seeking an experienced Licensed Clinician with either a LSW or LAC to plan, develop, and monitor behavioral support options for clients diagnosed with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. The candidate must exhibit excellent therapeutic and communications skills, and be able to work collaboratively with staff, clients, CMO, and families.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Completes Biopsychosocial assessments/reports and IMDS strengths and needs assessments Develops comprehensive treatment and discharge plans and updates as needed Provides individual therapy if applicable Completes initial safety/soothing plan development, documentation and consultation, and conducts debriefing with youth and family Provides group therapy or family therapy if applicable Attends treatment team meetings
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITY
Master's level therapist (either a LSW or LAC) licensed to practice in New Jersey who will achieve full independent licensure in the timeframe required by the appropriate licensing board. SERV can offer supervision hours to viable candidates. Minimum one year of experience working with youth with I/DD. Ability to work a schedule that accommodates the needs of clients and families.
SALARY:
$59,952.52 per year. #
