Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic Art Therapist to join our team and deliver innovative mental health and behavioral care through creative expression. In this role, you will facilitate individual and group art therapy sessions tailored to diverse populations, of aging adults and seniors with various needs such as dementia and chronic illnesses. Your expertise will help promote emotional well-being, enhance cognitive function, and support holistic patient care within our compassionate environment. Responsibilities The Art Therapist will plan and organize art therapy programs for all residents as well as assist with the implementation of some additional recreation programs. They will provide therapeutic activities to residents that are designed to meet the interests and to maintain or improve the physical, mental and psychosocial well-being of each resident according to the comprehensive resident assessment and plan of care. The Art Therapist will regulate content of programs in accordance with resident's capabilities, needs and interests, counsel and encourage residents to maintain a healthy leisure lifestyle, organize and coordinate events and outings and accompany residents on these outings. They will also prepare and complete progress notes and periodic reports for the interdisciplinary team reflecting resident's reactions as well as progress or regression towards goals. The Art Therapist will also train volunteers and Recreation Assistants in techniques of recreation and art therapy. They also supervise regular AT interns throughout the semester. The Art Therapist will be required to do some travel between other TSS properties throughout the course of the week. Experience Masters Degree in Art Therapy or Related Field. Long-term care experience preferred. Certification as an Art Therapist or related field within one year of hire. Valid Wisconsin driver's license with good record. Ability to drive for TSS.
