AT Direct Sports Medicine is hiring an athletic trainer for the 2026-2027 school year. This would be a part time position (30 hours per week) at Apache Junction High School. Additional hours are available

Responsibilities:

Prevention, recognition, clinical evaluation and diagnosis, immediate and emergency care, treatment rehabilitation and reconditioning of athletic injuries The Athletic Trainer serves as a liaison between physicians, coaches, athletes and parents and works under the direct supervision of the team physician as stated in the standard written protocol Maintain expertise through continuing education and professional development Determine an athlete's readiness to participate Promote safe and appropriate practice, competition and treatment facilities Advice on the selection, fit, and function of sports medicine equipment Assist with proper fitting of football helmets when required Develop and implement a comprehensive emergency action plan Establish protocols regarding environmental conditions Develop injury and illness prevention strategies Provide for on-site recognition, evaluation and immediate treatment of injury and illness, with appropriate referrals Coordinate daily treatment, evaluations, and rehabilitation of athletes Design and supervise rehabilitation and reconditioning programs Provide scientifically sound nutritional counseling and education Maintain permanent injury and treatment records regarding athletic injuries, and referrals Maintain organization, inventory and requisition of athletic training supplies Travel with the varsity football team to all regular and postseason games Travel with all sports in state tournaments when necessary
