Job Description

Certified Athletic Trainer will provide comprehensive patient care in a physician clinic, supporting orthopedic surgeons and physician assistants while also delivering athletic injury prevention and rehabilitation services to local high school, ski, and snowboard teams. The role combines clinical responsibilities with athletic training, ensuring safe return-to-activity for post-operative patients and emergency care at sporting events.
Key Responsibilities:
Support orthopedic surgeons and physician assistants with patient care in a clinic setting Greet, room, and document patients, including vitals and medical histories Carry out physician and PA treatment recommendations and provide patient education Prepare for and assist with in-office procedures and coordinate care with schedulers, authorization teams, and other departments Fabricate, adjust, and remove orthopedic devices; assist with traction, casting, splinting, wound dressings, and suture removal Provide athletic training coverage for local high school, ski, and snowboard events Support teams with injury prevention, evaluation, rehabilitation, and emergency care Develop and follow emergency action plans for athletic facilities and events Provide concussion education and training for coaching staff Assist with strength and conditioning and safe return-to-activity programs for post-operative patients Communicate effectively with physicians, coaches, athletes, parents, and athletic directors
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree Current NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer credential Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification Strong skills in athletic taping, durable medical equipment fitting, casting, splinting, and orthopedic patient care
Preferred Skills:
Master's degree Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification Orthopedic Technician program completion AT residency or fellowship training At least one year of full-time experience in a hospital, orthopedic clinic, or medical office
