Job Description

Medical Assistant (MA) OR Athletic Trainer (ATC) Location(s): Must be willing to travel to multiple site locations: Elgin, Algonquin, Barrington, IL.
Status:
Full-Time (40 Hours/Week) - may include evenings and a rotating Saturday Pay Range (depending on experience): MA from $18.00/hour; CMA from $20.00/hour; ATC from $25.00/hour Summary Responsible to provide administrative and clinical assistance including patient preparation and pre-screening, equipment preparation and performing patient care in a clinic setting. This position may also do some light scribing for medical providers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Verify patient information by interviewing patient and recording medical history. Prepare patient for examination by performing preliminary physical tests including taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature. Responsible to ensure information is accurately documented. Prepare equipment, injections, educational materials, etc. during treatment and examination of patients. Perform patient care including cast application/removal, splinting, post-op wound care, injections, fitting patients for braces and suture and staple removal. Communicate with patients and families regarding processes and procedures. Collect and prepare laboratory specimens. Maintain adequate supplies in examination rooms. Maintain accurate and complete patient records. Attend departmental meetings as required. Scribe for providers. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience Required:
High school diploma or equivalent. Two (2) plus years of relevant medical assistant work experience. Knowledge of medical office procedures and the ability to interact with patients, physicians and co-workers.
Preferred:
CPR/AED Certification. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). Completed Assessment-Based Recognition in Order Entry (ABR-OE) program. Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by the American Medical Technologists. Spanish Speaking.
