At NMC Health, we take pride in delivering compassionate, award-winning care and our Athletic Trainers play a key role in that mission. We are currently seeking a Full-Time Athletic Trainer to join our Orthopedic & Sports Specialists Clinic . In this position, you will support clinic workflow, provide expert care to athletes, and deliver high-quality athletic training services for both internal and external contracts.
Key responsibilities include:
Assisting with clinic workflow, including patient triage, rooming patients, bracing/casting, and home exercise instruction. Performing athletic training services in clinic and through external contracts with local high schools or colleges. Evaluating athlete injuries and readiness to return to play; providing participation clearances as appropriate. Conducting initial assessments and determining if referral to a physician is needed. Caring for athletic injuries using approved physical therapy techniques and equipment. Monitoring athlete recovery and communicating progress to coaches or physicians. Completing administrative tasks such as documentation, writing reports, and managing referrals. Ensuring compliance with HIPAA and OSHA guidelines in the clinic setting. Supporting the Orthopedics team with coordination, communication, and care continuity. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in both clinical and athletic field environments and values working collaboratively with healthcare professionals, athletes, and community partners.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor of Science degree or Masters degree required.
Experience:
1-2 years experience preferred in athletic training or a related clinical setting.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to evaluate athletic injuries and determine readiness to return to play. Skill in conducting initial injury assessments and providing appropriate treatment or referrals. Knowledge of physical therapy techniques and athletic training best practices. Excellent communication skills for interacting with athletes, coaches, physicians, and school personnel. Competency in completing reports, maintaining medical records, and handling sensitive information.
Licensure, Registration, or Certification:
Certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification. Licensed by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts. Join our Team!
