Job Summary:
Bucknell University is looking for our next Head Football Athletic Trainer to join our Department of Athletics and Recreation. As a member of the NCAA Division I (FCS in Football) and the Patriot League for 23 of 27 varsity sports, we are looking for a candidate who will be responsible for the administration of injury/illness prevention, recognition, nutrition, evaluation, management, treatment, and rehabilitation for student-athletes participating in our Bison Football program, in compliance with all National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) and Patriot League rules and regulations. Additionally, this position enforces health care policies and procedures regarding medical insurance, and completes physical examinations. Maintains all proper medical records. The successful candidate will follow risk management processes and communicate with parents, coaches, health care professionals, administrators, faculty, staff, and student-athletes.

What You Will Do:
Provides direct oversight of the Athletic Training Room, ensuring equitable and comprehensive sports medicine coverage for all student-athletes, including coordination of healthcare services, communication, scheduling, and health and safety initiatives. Provides supervision and leadership for Assistant Athletic Trainers, including oversight of clinical responsibilities, scheduling, and professional support. Serves as the primary athletic trainer for the Bison Football program within the Bucknell Department of Athletics, providing comprehensive healthcare services through injury and illness prevention, emergency and immediate care, clinical examination, assessment, diagnosis, and therapeutic intervention for athletic-related injuries. Attends all required practices and competitions, including travel to away contests. Oversees the rehabilitation and return-to-play process for student-athletes recovering from athletic-related injuries. Conducts evaluations of injury status, including range of motion, strength, and functional performance, while coordinating referrals to physicians and other healthcare professionals as appropriate. Performs administrative responsibilities related to student-athlete healthcare, including insurance coordination, medical documentation, medical history management, follow-up care, and maintenance of medical records. Assists with inventory and supply management, departmental communications, scheduling, and implementation of health and safety recommendations. Bachelor's Degree in athletic training or a related field BOC Certified for Athletic Trainers Must possess a State of Pennsylvania License or be State of Pennsylvania License eligible 2 years of experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer
Preferred, But Not Required:
Master's Degree Completed the national certification exam & are eligible for state licensure 2 years of direct football experience 4 years collegiate athletics experience preferred as a Certified Athletic Trainer Athletic training experience in an NCAA Division I program is preferred Physical Requirements Work involves considerable exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day

Salary Range:
49,200.00-61,500.00 The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy. This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US without a need for current or future visa sponsorship.
