Job Description

Job Summary:
The Associate Athletic Trainer is responsible for assisting the Head Athletic Trainer in the education, prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries incurred by Mercy University intercollegiate athletes.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

Supervise/Provide coverage and care of teams for practices and games (will involve some travel and work on weekends) Work with the Team Physician for the Health Care of the Student Athletes Create and maintain accurate records of athletic injuries and rehabilitation Assist with administrative tasks required for athletic injury insurance claims Assist in maintaining a safe and clean Athletic Training Room Mentor interns from Mercy University's Exercise Science Program Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum of one (1) year experience as a practicing National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) Board of Certification (BOC) certified Athletic Trainer is preferred Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills are required
Education Requirements:
Maintain
NATA BOC
certification Maintain Athletic Trainer license in the state of New York Bachelor's degree required
Physical/Other Requirements:
Flexibility to work weekends and travel Must be able to push, pull, move or lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to meet all general health requirements for the position as per university policies
