ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Mt. Hood Chiropractic Clinic is seeking a skilled and motivated Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) to serve Sam Barlow High School through our contract with the Gresham-Barlow School District. In this role, you will be the primary sports medicine provider for Barlow's athletes — delivering injury prevention, acute care, and rehabilitation services across a full calendar of OSAA-sanctioned sports. This is a full-time, clinic-employed position with competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and the stability of a long-term school district contract. You will collaborate closely with our supervising physicians and Sam Barlow athletic staff, providing continuity of care that extends from the sideline to the treatment table.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide on-site athletic training coverage for practices, home events, and selected away contests across all OSAA sports seasons Conduct pre-participation screenings, injury evaluations, and return-to-play assessments in collaboration with the clinic's supervising physicians Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans for injured student-athletes Create evidence-based injury prevention programs tailored to each sport Maintain thorough documentation including SOAP notes, injury reports, physician referrals, and OSAA compliance records Serve as first responder to medical emergencies and coordinate EMS activation per the school Emergency Action Plan (EAP) Communicate proactively with coaches, parents, physicians, and school administrators regarding athlete health status Educate student-athletes, coaches, and staff on concussion protocols, heat illness, and injury prevention Manage the athletic training room, inventory, and equipment in collaboration with the clinic
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS BOC
Certification (ATC) — current and in good standing Oregon Athletic Trainer license (OHA) — active or eligible by start date CPR/AED certification — current, obtained through hands-on training Concussion and TBI training completed within the past 3 years (OSAA requirement) Bachelor's or Master's degree from a CAATE-accredited athletic training program Valid Oregon driver's license Preferred Qualifications 2+ years of experience in a secondary school or sports medicine clinic setting Familiarity with OSAA preparticipation examination requirements and rules compliance Experience developing or revising Emergency Action Plans Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) documentation systems
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Salary:
$60,000

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Sam Barlow High School is one of the largest and most active schools in the Gresham-Barlow School District, fielding competitive OSAA teams across all three sports seasons. You will work primarily on-site in a dedicated athletic training room with direct access to the clinic for consultation, imaging coordination, and physician oversight.
