Department of Health and Exercise Science / PreAthletic Training TrackPosition SummaryMisericordia University invites applications for Adjunct Faculty to support our PreAthletic Training curriculum on a parttime, semesterbysemester basis. This is an excellent opportunity for certified athletic trainers and related professionals to share their clinical expertise with undergraduate students preparing for entry into professional athletic training programs.

ResponsibilitiesAdjunct faculty may be assigned lecture and/or lab courses in areas such as:

Introduction to Athletic Training and Sports MedicineEvaluation and Assessment of Athletic Injuries (upper and lower extremity)Therapeutic ModalitiesTherapeutic Exercise and RehabilitationEmergency Care and First Aid in SportTaping, Bracing, and Protective EquipmentClinical Skills / PreAT Practicum seminarsAdditional responsibilities include:

Preparing syllabi, laboratory experiences, and assessment tools aligned with program outcomes and CAATEaligned preprofessional expectationsProviding demonstration and supervision of psychomotor skills in a lab/clinical classroom settingEmphasizing evidencebased practice, documentation, and professional standards of careProviding timely feedback and mentoring to students exploring athletic training as a careerCollaborating with program faculty to ensure alignment between didactic coursework and clinical expectationsMinimum QualificationsMasters degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a closely related fieldCurrent certification as a BOCcertified Athletic Trainer (ATC)Eligible for, or holding, appropriate state licensure for athletic training practice (if applicable)Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience as an athletic trainer with physically active populationsStrong communication skills and commitment to studentcentered educationPreferred QualificationsCollegiate or professional athletics clinical experiencePrior experience teaching, precepting, or supervising athletic training students or internsFamiliarity with CAATE standards and professional preparation pathwaysExperience with simulation, skills checkoffs, and competencybased assessmentExperience with learning management systems and basic instructional technologyApplication Materials RequiredCover letter describing clinical background, teaching interests, and availabilityCurriculum vitae or rsumCopy of current BOC certification and state license (if applicable)Contact information for three professional referencesUnofficial transcripts (official transcripts required upon hire)Misericordia University, a vibrant community founded in 1924 by the Sisters of Mercy!
