Silicon Valley Hearing, Inc. is a premier private practice audiology clinic located in the heart of the Silicon Valley in the town of Los Gatos, which is nestled along the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains. We are seeking an energetic, motivated, outgoing, friendly student who is passionate about the field of audiology, desires to learn and develop their clinical audiology skills, learning the ins and outs of private practice and interested in having a well-rounded externship year. The ideal candidate should be able to engage with team members and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills. Our clinic believes in evidence-based, patient centered care in order to help our patients enhance, engage, and lead rich meaningful lives. Our team strives for excellence in patient care and satisfaction. Our office will provide you with a hands-on excellent and educational experience that will allow you to become a well-prepared clinician well-versed in audiology best practices including, but not limited to: Diagnostic audiological testing for patients from pediatrics (5 years+) to geriatrics (i.e., full case history, pure-tone audiometry, appropriate masking, tympanometry, acoustic reflexes, otoacoustic emissions, word recognition testing in quiet, speech understanding in noise such as the QuickSIN, BKB-SIN, Words-in-Noise, AzBio Sentences). Tinnitus evaluations and tinnitus management options, including Neuromod Lenire tinnitus treatment, tinnitus retraining therapy, and cognitive reframing and mindfulness techniques. Sound sensitivity disorder evaluation and management (i.e., hyperacusis, misophonia, and sensory over-responsivity, etc.). Cochlear implant candidacy evaluations and programming Hearing aid selection, fitting, repair, and troubleshooting. Real-Ear measures and Sound-Field aided testing to ensure optimal speech understanding in quiet and in background noise. Earmold, hearing protection devices (i.e., musician's earplugs, shooter's plugs, sleep plugs) and In-Ear-Monitors (IEM) for musicians.
