Job Description

Cleveland Clinic Florida, a branch of the Cleveland Clinic, is seeking a 4th year extern interested in providing care for adult and geriatric populations in a fast-paced multi-specialty clinical setting. This 12-month opportunity includes ample experiences with cutting-edge amplification from all major manufacturers and medical diagnostic audiology. In addition, we offer comprehensive vestibular evaluations including videonystagmography (VNG), rotary chair, vHIT, oVEMP, cVEMP, while working closely with physical therapy to coordinate vestibular rehabilitation. The extern will have opportunities to shadow in other disciplines such as physical therapy, participate in ototoxic monitoring. Our externs are expected to thrive independently during downtime to increase knowledge and skill sets. Interest in aspects of medical audiology and amplification Interests in vestibular diagnostics Spanish language skills are an additional plus (not required)

  • Basic audiological diagnostic skills
  • Basic hearing aid programming knowledge
  • Successful completion of Internship rotations Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship: Students will engage in experiences surrounding diagnostic audiology for adults to geriatric populations, hearing aid consultations/fittings/troubleshooting, vestibular diagnostics and management, and ototoxic monitoring.
