Fourth-Year Audiology Externship (2027-2028) Hearing Doctors of New Jersey Hearing Doctors of New Jersey is pleased to offer a full-time fourth-year Audiology Externship for the 2027-2028 academic year. This comprehensive clinical training experience provides doctoral audiology students with the opportunity to work alongside experienced audiologists in delivering state-of-the-art diagnostic and rehabilitative hearing healthcare to adult patients. With offices in Livingston and Clifton, New Jersey, our busy private practice serves a large and diverse adult patient population. Externs can expect a high-volume clinical experience that provides extensive opportunities to develop diagnostic, treatment, counseling, and practice management skills in a supportive and collaborative environment. Mentorship and Clinical Training Externs will receive direct mentorship from our team of two Doctors of Audiology, both of whom hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). As clinical competency develops, externs will be given increasing responsibility and opportunities to manage patients independently while continuing to receive guidance and support from supervising audiologists. Externs will participate in all aspects of patient care, including counseling, treatment planning, hearing aid verification, technology selection and fitting, follow-up care, and long-term patient management. The goal of the externship is to prepare students for independent clinical practice through progressive hands-on experience and individualized mentorship. Clinical Training Opportunities Externs will gain experience in a wide range of audiologic services, including: Diagnostic Services Comprehensive Audiological Evaluations (CAEs) Otoacoustic Emissions (OAE) testing Hearing Technology Services Hearing aid evaluations, technology selection, fittings, verification, dispensing, and follow-up care Assistive listening technology Low-gain amplification Tinnitus Management Tinnitus evaluations Tinnitus counseling and therapy services Custom Hearing Protection and Ear Products Custom earmolds Swim plugs Sleep plugs Hearing protection devices Musician's earplugs
