The MetroHealth System Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, Division of Audiology is accepting applications for the Fourth Year (Final Year) Audiology Externship program for the 2027-2028 academic year. This full-time externship will run for a minimum of 11 months to a maximum of 12 months and includes a stipend. The selected candidate will gain experience in diverse settings including inpatient, outpatient, and a fast-paced ENT Clinic. The extern will be supervised by Audiologists that have a minimum of three years of clinical experience, are licensed by the State of Ohio, and are Certified by the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association (ASHA). Clinical opportunities will include:

Comprehensive diagnostic evaluations for all populations, including follow up newborn hearing assessments Electrophysiologic evaluations in the clinic, in the OR and under conscious sedation (ABR, ASSR, and DPOAEs) Vestibular testing (VNG, C-VEMP, O-VEMP, vHIT) Multidisciplinary Vestibular Clinic Full-service amplification dispensing and verification for all populations Cochlear implant evaluations and programming for the adult population Multidisciplinary Craniofacial Disorders Clinic Experience with the newborn hearing screening program in the well-baby and NICU nurseries
