Focused Veteran Hearing Evaluations This is an evaluation-only assignment. The audiologist conducts standardized examinations addressing the hearing conditions included in each Veteran's exam request. The work does not involve ongoing hearing treatment or management of a traditional patient panel. The audiologist documents objective findings, while disability determinations are made by the appropriate government agency. The structured examination process allows the audiologist to focus on accurate testing, respectful interactions with Veterans, and timely documentation. Responsibilities Conduct in-person audiology disability examinations. Review relevant medical and service records. Discuss claimed hearing conditions and medical history with each Veteran. Perform required audiological testing according to established protocols. Document objective clinical findings clearly and accurately. Complete required Disability Benefits Questionnaires. Prepare medical opinions when requested and within the audiologist's scope. Submit completed examination reports within required timelines. Follow established examination and documentation standards. Maintain a respectful and professional experience for each Veteran. Keep audiology equipment and the examination space ready for appointments.
