The goal of this educational externship is to provide a well-rounded experience to help students develop the skills necessary for a successful career as an audiologist. As an extern, you can expect to receive intensive training and mentoring from an experienced staff in varied areas of Audiology. During the placement, the extern will have the opportunity to apply academic principles within a clinical practice and learn to work as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes interaction with Ear Nose and Throat Physicians and vestibular physical therapists. With a team of experienced audiologists as preceptors, the extern is sure to have a positive year full of challenging cases with consistent support and feedback from their supervisors. This position will provide the selected student extensive exposure to vestibular diagnosis and testing, hearing aids, cochlear implants, assistive listening devices, intraoperative monitoring, and other electrophysiological testing. Clinical time will be spent at the Intermountain Cottonwood Audiology. The internship consists of two six-month rotations: one in our Vestibular Clinic and one in our Hearing Aid and Cochlear Implant Clinic, providing a well-rounded clinical experience in both balance and hearing healthcare. Intraoperative monitoring opportunities will be available as desired. Intermountain Audiology has a position for a 4 th year Doctoral student.
