RBT / Behavior Technician - Full Time Autism Behavior & Cognitive Development Serving Mobile County & Baldwin County Who We Are Autism Behavior & Cognitive Development provides individualized ABA services designed to help children build practical skills they can use at home, school, and in the community. We work alongside families to support each child's development through thoughtful, evidence-based treatment. What We Offer A welcoming and collaborative team environment Structured training for individuals entering the ABA field Ongoing support and supervision from experienced clinical professionals Opportunities to learn directly from Board Certified Behavior Analysts Hands-on experience working with children in a clinical setting Opportunities to strengthen skills in behavior support, teaching, communication, and child development Professional development and opportunities for advancement within the organization Meaningful work where you can see the progress children make over time Experience that can be valuable for individuals pursuing careers in psychology, ABA, education, counseling, healthcare, or related fields Your Role Work directly with children during individualized, one-on-one ABA therapy sessions Carry out treatment programs and teaching procedures developed by a supervising BCBA Help children learn functional skills that increase independence in everyday situations Teach communication, social, play, academic-readiness, and self-care skills Use positive reinforcement and structured teaching strategies to encourage skill development Create learning opportunities through play, structured activities, and natural interactions Assist children with practicing and generalizing newly learned skills Follow behavior-support strategies established by the clinical team Observe and accurately record information about client performance and progress Maintain clear and timely clinical documentation Work collaboratively with BCBAs, supervisors, and fellow team members Participate in supervision, training, coaching, and professional development activities Maintain respectful and professional communication with families and coworkers Follow organizational policies related to safety, confidentiality, ethics, and quality of care Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Must be 18 years of age or older Must be able to meet applicable background-screening requirements Willingness to complete the 40-hour training required to pursue RBT certification Genuine interest in working with children Interest in learning about Applied Behavior Analysis and child development Dependable and consistent attendance Patient, caring, and encouraging approach when working with children Ability to remain professional and composed in a clinical environment Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills Willingness to receive instruction, feedback, and ongoing coaching Ability to follow treatment procedures accurately and consistently Ability to collaborate effectively with supervisors and other team members Motivation to learn new skills and continue developing professionally Commitment to providing children with respectful, high-quality support Helpful Experience, But Not Required Experience working with children in a professional, volunteer, educational, or childcare setting Current or previous Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification Previous experience with Applied Behavior Analysis Experience in behavioral health, special education, childcare, early childhood education, or developmental services College coursework in psychology, education, ABA, child development, social work, human services, or a related area
