The Trainee Curious to learn the science of Applied Behavior Analysis and how to use it to teach individuals with disabilities? Growing private practice looking for someone who's looking to career in the field of teaching children to get a hands-on experience to be train up to a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). Registered Behavior Technician Role The RBT role is like that of a Tutor. To be successful in the position, you must have a drive to help support and encourage others to learn. As a RBT, you must be:
- Creative to come up with activities and "lessons" for the students to learn and practice their skills.
- Patient to withstand their idiosyncrasies
- Determined to teach those who have difficulty learning
- Energetic enough to know when to use high energy and animation to create a "fun" learning environment when necessary.
Responsibilities Assist with designing and implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to each client's needs, focusing on skill acquisition and behavior management. Collect, record, and analyze behavioral data accurately during therapy sessions to monitor progress and inform plan adjustments. Support clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, dressing, feeding, and other essential self-care routines. Engage in direct behavioral therapy sessions, applying ABA techniques to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors. Maintain clear, thorough documentation of medical records, care plans, and session notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations and professional standards. Communicate effectively with clients, families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure consistency and progress toward goals. Follow ethical guidelines outlined in the Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts while delivering client-centered care. Experience Previous experience working with children or individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder is highly preferred. Hands-on experience with behavioral health interventions, data collection, or home-based behavioral services is advantageous. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical documentation practices, and medical records management is beneficial. Demonstrated ability to implement ABA therapy protocols accurately while adhering to client care plans. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays will support success in this role. A strong foundation in behavior management techniques combined with excellent client communication skills will enable you to thrive as a Trainee in this position.
