Job Description

Behavior Technician (BT) / RBT — Part-Time, In-Home$22-$26/hour | Paid Training | Chula Vista Area Looking for a Different Kind of ABA Experience? At DIAS Consulting, assent matters. Our sessions are client-led and 100% play-based unless the client prefers something different. We follow the client's interests, preferences, communication, and choices to help guide what sessions look like.

That may look different for every client — and that's the point. We don't believe in keeping clients or therapists busy with long lists of goals just to collect data. No busy-work goals. Goals should be functional, meaningful, and connected to skills that actually matter in the client's everyday life.

We listen when a client communicates "no," "not right now," "I need a break," or shows us through their behavior that something isn't working.

Your role isn't to force participation. It's to build trust, follow the client's lead, create opportunities to learn, and support skills that make a difference in their everyday life. Who We're Looking For Some of our clients have higher behavioral support needs and may engage in behaviors such as aggression, elopement, or other challenging behaviors. Previous ABA, behavioral health, special needs, caregiving, education, or similar experience is preferred. However, we're also open to candidates who are comfortable working with higher-support needs, willing to learn, and committed to completing training and receiving ongoing coaching. You will have supervision and support — we don't expect you to figure it out alone. Communication & Professionalism Matter This is a healthcare position, and reliability and communication are essential. We're looking for serious applicants who are ready to work and understand the responsibility that comes with being part of a client's care team.

Things happen. Schedules change. Emergencies come up. We understand that. What matters is communicating with your supervisor and the team. Once you accept a position or client assignment, we expect consistent communication, professional follow-through, and reliability. Our clients, families, and clinical team depend on you. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Active driver's license Current auto insurance Reliable transportation — this is an in-home position Strong and consistent communication Reliable, professional, and able to follow through on commitments Open to feedback, coaching, and ongoing learning Comfortable working with clients who may have higher behavioral support needs Willing to learn strategies for safely responding to challenging behavior Maintains appropriate professional boundaries Comfortable working independently in clients' homes Availability primarily during after-school, afternoon, and/or early evening hours Preferred, But Not Required Current RBT certification Previous ABA experience Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, special needs, or challenging behaviors Bilingual/Spanish-speaking Before Working With Clients These items do not need to be completed before applying, but must be completed or cleared before beginning client services: Background check/required clearances Current CPR/First Aid certification TB screening/test Completion of required onboarding and company training What We Offer $22-$26/hour , depending on experience and qualifications Paid initial training Ongoing paid training Ongoing supervision and clinical support $40/month cell phone reimbursement Flexible part-time scheduling with room for additional hours as we grow Most sessions are currently during after-school, afternoon, and early evening hours , although daytime hours may be available in some service areas We strive to keep your clients within approximately 15 miles of your home Additional compensation for approved assignments outside your normal service area Employee-friendly last-minute cancellation policy — qualifying last-minute client cancellations are paid A team that values assent, client choice, meaningful goals, and individualized care
