Devereux Day Academy-Laguna Hills is seeking a dedicated Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to support students with disabilities through evidence‑based behavior change practices. This is a part-time, 12‑month position that reports to the Special Education Program Manager. Being a BCBA at Devereux Day Academy has its Advantages! As a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) , you will provide direct behavioral support to educational staff, administrators, behavior support specialists, students, and families within an elementary autism support classroom at Devereux Day Academy-Laguna Hills. Using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), you will address challenging behaviors through individual and group trainings, Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), behavior analyses, and the development and oversight of Positive Behavior Support Plans. The BCBA collaborates closely with teachers, behaviorists, administrators, and agency partners to ensure fidelity of behavior plan implementation, provide consultation on best practices and regulatory requirements, and offer expertise in complex cases. This role also participates in IEP meetings and ensures all services and documentation comply with federal, state, and local regulations. All practices and materials are grounded in evidence‑based ABA methodologies, research‑validated strategies, and California Department of Education-supported procedures. #sponsorQualifications:
Education:
Masters' or Doctoral degree in psychology, special education or related field. Board Certification in Behavior Analysis (BCBA or BCBA-D) required.Experience:
Prior experience working with students with special needs required. Prior experience working with students with autism preferred. Experience conducting FBAs and developing and evaluating Positive Behavior Support Plans across settings Strong ABA skills with experience supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorders and/or challenging behaviors Ability to provide staff and family training, behavioral consultation, and performance management Experience with behavioral supervision, including BCBA supervision as needed Ability to review behavior analytic research and support applied research or outcome studies Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data collection/analysis platforms Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Valid driver's license required Devereux has a zero-tolerance policy for abuse and maintains policies and procedures to systematically reduce the risk of abuse to occur in our organization.
