Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting young learners in autism program classrooms near Hartford, CT. This one-month assignment (ASAP through end of October) is designed to fill a vital gap while permanent staff are being onboarded. Work closely onsite with children ages 5-6 who present with severe cases of Autism Spectrum Disorder, helping to create a nurturing and structured environment for growth. What you'll bring: Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification (for RBT candidates) For paraeducator roles: confirmed experience working in autism program classrooms, especially with severe cases Confidence supporting children ages 5-6 with significant developmental and behavioral needs Comfort with toileting routines and diaper changing as part of daily care Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with coworkers and classroom staff Your responsibilities: Deliver one-on-one and small group behavioral support within an autism program classroom Follow behavior intervention plans and tailor interventions for individual student needs Support students social, emotional, and academic development Assist with toileting, personal care, and hygiene as needed Maintain accurate records and communicate student progress to the supervising team Contribute positively to a safe, supportive atmosphere for all children and staff This role offers consistent hours35 per weekthroughout the term of the assignment, allowing for relationship-building with a small group of students and the opportunity to make a difference in their daily school experience.
