Job Description

Category Schools - RBT - Registered Behavior Technician Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference every day by supporting high school students in a special education program as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). This full-time contract role offers the chance to help shape positive learning experiences, working directly with students and collaborating with an expert team in a welcoming educational environment located near Norwich, Connecticut.
What You'll Do:
Deliver personalized 1:1 behavioral and academic support to a high school student Implement behavior intervention plans and skill-acquisition programs under the supervision of a qualified professional Encourage the growth of communication, social, adaptive, and independent-living abilities Support classroom management and help facilitate participation in group and school activities Carefully collect and document behavioral and skill-acquisition data Maintain adherence to all behavioral and safety guidelines Assist students with daily transitions and routines throughout the school day
What We're Looking For:
Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification through the BACB, or the ability to obtain/maintain certification as needed Completion of required RBT training and competency assessment High school diploma or equivalent credential Ability to pass background checks and any required clearances Experience working with children, teens, or young adults with special education needs Background in special education settings is highly preferred Familiarity with ABA principles, intervention strategies, and data collection best practices Compensation for this position ranges from $22.43-$30.23 per hour. Your schedule will be Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.
