Location:
Bridgeport, CT Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavior Technician (BT) to provide ABA services one-on-one to a child, with a diagnosis of moderate autism in Bridgeport, CT. This position requires an individual who is enthusiastic about making a positive impact in the life of a person with special needs and who is committed to implementing behavior interventions effectively.
Schedule Needed:
Monday- Friday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Saturday 10-3
Key Responsibilities:
Implement individualized treatment plans designed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) . Support a child with moderate autism in developing functional life skills including increasing independence, self-occupancy, and adaptive skills across home and community settings, with a focus on promoting success in the least restrictive environment. Collect and record data on the client's progress and behavior patterns during sessions as directed by the BCBA. Collaborate with the BCBA to adjust treatment plans and strategies as needed. Communicate effectively with parents/caregivers regarding the client's progress and any relevant observations. Maintain a safe and nurturing environment for the client during sessions.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or related field preferred. Experience working with individuals with autism. Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles. Previous experience as a Behavior Technician is required Certification in CPR and First Aid is a plus.
