Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced RBT (Registered Behavior Technician)-Trained Lead Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and engaging classroom environment that supports the developmental needs of young children, including children on the autism spectrum. This role involves planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, managing classroom behavior, and fostering positive learning experiences. The Lead Teacher will also serve as a role model for staff and assist in maintaining a safe, inclusive, and stimulating atmosphere for all children. Responsibilities Develop and execute engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards. Apply RBT-trained behavior management techniques, including redirecting behaviors and using positive reinforcement strategies. Use transitional songs and structured redirection techniques to help children, including those on the autism spectrum, move smoothly between activities. Support children's social, emotional, and cognitive development through individualized attention and tailored activities. Manage and support multiple children on the autism spectrum simultaneously, applying RBT-based strategies adapted to each child's needs. Transition smoothly between activities to maintain a structured yet flexible daily routine, including establishing consistent lining-up and transition procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-set-up classroom at all times. Provide guidance and mentorship to assistant teachers and support staff, promoting best practices in preschool teaching and behavior support. Maintain safety protocols by ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations, including first aid and CPR procedures. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and developmental milestones. Observe and assess each child's growth, documenting progress to inform future planning. Requirements RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) certification and hands-on experience working with children on the autism spectrum required. Proven experience in early childhood education or preschool teaching with young children. Experience working with children on the autism spectrum, including managing multiple children with autism at one time. Strong understanding of childhood development principles, including autism spectrum-specific needs and applied behavior analysis (ABA) concepts. Demonstrated classroom management skills, including transitional songs, behavior redirection techniques, and structured transition routines. Ability to establish and maintain organized classroom systems, including lining-up procedures and overall cleanliness/organization. Certification in first aid and CPR is required or willingness to obtain upon hire. Excellent communication skills with the ability to foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues. Ability to create an inclusive, safe, and stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity and exploration.
