Job Description

Behavior Technician BT | Registered Behavior Technician RBT Do you want to make a real impact supporting children with autism and start a meaningful career path? ABA could be exactly where that journey begins. What is ABA? Applied Behavior Analysis ( ABA ) is a science-based approach that focuses on understanding how learning happens and how behavior changes over time. ABA uses data, structured teaching, and positive reinforcement to help children build independence, strengthen communication, increase social engagement, and reduce barriers that make learning difficult. Every ABA program is customized to meet the unique needs of each child. What Does a BT/RBT Do? A Behavior Technician (BT) or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a trained paraprofessional who delivers ABA therapy directly to children with autism. While ABA explains the science , BT/RBTs are the ones who bring that science to life through hands-on teaching, play-based learning, and consistent support. BT/RBTs work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and help children: Build new skills through structured teaching Practice communication and social interaction Strengthen daily living and school-readiness abilities Navigate challenging moments using evidence-based strategies Key Responsibilities Implement individualized treatment plans created by a BCBA Support skill development through play, structured activities, and routine practice Assist with behavior reduction strategies using positive reinforcement Collect accurate data to track progress and guide treatment decisions Maintain a supportive, engaging environment that promotes learning Collaborate with clinical supervisors to ensure high-quality care Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Strong written and verbal communication skills Reliable transportation + auto insurance Preferred Qualifications Experience with autistic children or children with developmental disabilities is a plus but not required. Candidates with experience in special education, teaching assistant roles, daycare, childcare, babysitting, classroom aide/paraprofessional work, early childhood education, youth mentoring, behavioral health, mental health technician roles, or working with children with disabilities are highly encouraged to apply. Experience or training in psychology, education, social work, human services, or applied behavior analysis (ABA) is also beneficial. $18.00-$25.00 per hour
