Providing one-on-one ABA therapy using evidence-based interventions. Building positive therapeutic relationships with children and their families. Teaching communication, language, play, social interaction, adaptive living, and self-help skills. Implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). Teaching replacement behaviors that promote independence and reduce challenging behaviors. Preparing therapy materials and maintaining an organized treatment environment. Using reinforcement procedures to increase desired behaviors. Following prompting hierarchies and systematically fading prompts. Supporting successful transitions between activities and environments. Maintaining client dignity, privacy, and safety. Accurately collecting behavioral and skill-acquisition data during every session. Completing documentation within required timelines. Communicating concerns promptly to the supervising BCBA. Attending supervision, staff meetings, and required trainings. Maintaining professional conduct at all times. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required Active RBT Certification preferred or ability to obtain Reliable transportation Ability to pass background screening Strong communication skills Preferred Qualifications Experience working with children Experience supporting individuals with autism or developmental disabilities ABA experience CPR/First Aid certification Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred but not required) Physical Requirements This position requires frequent standing, walking, kneeling, bending, reaching, sitting on the floor, and active engagement during therapy sessions. Employees must be able to lift or assist children as appropriate using safe techniques. Work Environment Services may occur in: Home School Community settings Schedules may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, or weekends depending on client needs. School Based Services When providing services in a school environment, the RBT may: Support the client's participation in classroom routines. Implement ABA treatment protocols in coordination with the client's clinical plan. Promote independence within the educational environment. Support appropriate peer interactions. Assist with transitions throughout the school day. Collect treatment data while minimizing disruption to instruction. Collaborate professionally with teachers and school personnel within the boundaries of the RBT role. Follow applicable school safety procedures and site requirements. Maintain the distinction between the RBT's clinical responsibilities and the responsibilities of school personnel. Communicate clinical concerns to the supervising BCBA. Home and Community Based Services When providing services in homes or community settings, the RBT will: Maintain professional boundaries while working in private residences. Respect the client's home, family, culture, routines, and personal property. Implement treatment within naturally occurring routines when clinically appropriate. Support generalization of skills into everyday environments. Follow organizational policies regarding transportation, community outings, purchases, and client property. Maintain client confidentiality in public environments. Follow established procedures regarding caregiver presence and communication. Immediately report environmental or safety concerns according to organizational policy.
