Job Summary The Behavior Technician plays a vital role in supporting individuals with behavioral challenges, particularly those on the autism spectrum. This position involves implementing behavior intervention plans under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and working directly with clients to promote positive behavior changes. The Behavior Technician will engage with clients in various settings, providing patient care and fostering an environment conducive to learning and development. Duties Implement individualized treatment plans based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles. Collect and record data on client progress and behavior changes accurately. Assist in the development of behavior management strategies tailored to each client's needs. Provide direct patient care, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for clients. Maintain detailed medical documentation as required by regulatory standards. Educate clients and their families about behavioral techniques and strategies to reinforce positive behaviors. Collaborate with other professionals, including educators and therapists, to ensure a comprehensive approach to client care. Engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills in behavioral therapy and special education. Skills Proficient in data collection methods relevant to behavioral analysis. Strong background in patient care, particularly with children experiencing behavioral challenges. Familiarity with medical documentation practices and requirements. Experience working with children, especially those diagnosed with autism or other developmental disorders. Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques and principles. Ability to educate clients and families effectively about behavior management strategies. Experience in behavioral therapy practices, including interventions for special education needs. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with team members and families. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases efficiently while maintaining accurate records.
