Job Description

TYPE OF POSITION

Full time (1.0); 2026-27 school year; salary commensurate with agreement between Seekonk School Committee and AFSCME Council 93, Local 1701, Seekonk Instructional & Supervisory Aides

LOCATION

George R. Martin Elementary School

PAY:

$29.87 per hour

REPORTS TO

Principal/Assistant Principal, BCBA, and/or Immediate Teacher

The Registered Behavior Technician works under the direction of the Principal/Assistant Principal, Director of Student Services, BCBA, and immediate teacher supervisor to assist with the delivery of services to students with disabilities. This includes both special education and related services as specified in the IEP.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered qualified for this position, candidates must minimally have the following:

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification

Experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, or learning disabilities

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, with children and adults.

Ability to develop positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and staff.

Ability to lift up to 40 pounds as needed.

Knowledge and training in the implementation of continuous performance of positive reinforcement with students.

Demonstrate the ability to adapt to the needs of a changing student population with a variety of challenges and address their social and emotional needs.

Demonstrate flexibility, and the ability to be independent and self-directed within supervised tasks.

Ability to use technology to enhance instructional and professional responsibilities.

Attend PD offered by the district.

RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
which include but are not limited to:

Administer behavior intervention plans as directed by BCBA and classroom teacher

Deliver individualized assistance and therapeutic services to students

Document and monitor student behavior with accuracy

Engage in team planning sessions, trainings, supervision, and student meetings

Maintain professionalism and ethical standards

Maintain confidentiality
