Behavior Technician (BT) / Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) The Technician is a paraprofessional who practices under the supervision of a BCBA or experienced therapists. A Technician works with clients primarily diagnosed with developmental impairments in the home and community settings, where they work on skills identified by the team (i.e., school, family, Cater 2 Kids ABA, SLP, OT, etc.). At least eighteen (18) years of age High School Diploma or Equivalent Possesses a valid driver's license and has reliable means of transportation Pass criminal background check (CORI) Completes in person interview Strong communication skills (ability to listen, and strong verbal communication) Demonstrates patience, and is able to remain neutral/ calm in crisis situations Able to work in a team environment, working toward same goal Motivated to develop professionally and learn more, is goal-driven, and has a positive attitude Enjoys working with people, particularly children, adolescents, and teens/ young adults

Medical/ Physical :

The position requires the therapist to be both physically ambulatory and active. Able to transition quickly, and without effort from floor play, to walking/ moving with clients. Able to run with client for short distance/ short period of time Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds when necessary while working with client Can perform the following motions without assistance (environment permitting): push, bend, stoop, crawl, walk, reach, lift, climb stairs, and run. Provide varying degrees of instruction tailored to the needs of the client Applying principles of ABA throughout instruction/ teaching Implements teaching strategies including but not limited to: Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT), Task Analysis (TA), Incidental Teaching (IT), and Behavior Skills Training (BST) Maintain client confidentiality and respond professionally to clients, families, and members of the community At times assisting with daily living skills which may include, but are not limited to showering, toileting/ bathroom hygiene routines, personal maintenance, meal-preparation, etc. Clinical and Administrative tasks, including but not limited to data collection and summary, completing session notes/ other forms of documentation, working from a client specific binder, and preparing materials/ stimuli Communicates using email and completes assigned trainings and other tasks in a timely manner Effectively respond to and manage crisis situations which may include client physical aggression Working within client's homes (structure of session specific to each client); and at times in the community depending on the needs of the client/ or the specifics of the case Attends all required team meetings and trainings when applicable Undergo mandatory 40 hour ABA training Obtain RBT certification Paid Sick Time 401k Health Insurance After 1 year of employment you will receive 1 week of discretionary
