Overview:
The York School Department is seeking a dedicated Ed Tech to support preschool-aged students with intensive developmental and highly individualized needs. This role focuses on fostering a safe, predictable, and nurturing environment to help our youngest learners build foundational social, emotional, and academic skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct Support:
Provide 1:1 or small-group instruction and behavioral support as outlined in student IEPs.
Safety & Care:
Implement de-escalation strategies and maintain Safety Care certification (training provided) to ensure student and staff safety.
Data Collection:
Accurately track behavioral and academic progress to inform IEP goal monitoring.
Collaboration:
Work closely with Case Managers, BCBAs, and related service providers to implement specialized programming and therapeutic interventions.
Adaptability:
Support early childhood development through play-based learning and assist with remote engagement for students struggling with school attendance.
Qualifications:
Maine Ed Tech II or III authorization (or eligibility to obtain). Experience in early childhood or special education preferred. Strong communication skills and a trauma-informed approach to student behavior.
