(HHI), a private non-profit corporation, is one of the largest freestanding behavioral healthcare agencies in the area. HHI, accredited by the Joint Commission and licensed by the State of Michigan, provides a broad array of mental health and substance abuse treatment and prevention services to individuals of all ages. The Behavior Analyst is responsible for the assessment, development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of behavior support plans for children and adolescents in a 24/7 psychiatric residential treatment setting (80%) and within the Group Home settings in serving the adult population (20%). The Behavior Analyst collaborates closely with interdisciplinary team members to ensure consistent, evidence-based behavioral interventions aligned with each individualized treatment plan.
REQUIREMENTS
Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a bachelor's degree in Behavior Analysis. Current State of Michigan license that corresponds to education specifically LP, LLP, LMSW, LLMSW, BCBA or BCaBA. Two or more years experience working with both children/adolescents and adults with severe emotional and behavioral disorders. One year supervised experience in behavior assessments, treatment and implementation. Experience in residential, inpatient, or intensive treatment settings preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
(summary): Assessment & Treatment Planning Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) to identify the underlying causes of challenging behaviors. Develop individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) based on assessment data and clinical best practices. Integrate behavioral strategies into overall treatment plans. Implementation & Oversight Provide ongoing oversight and support for the implementation of behavior plans by staff. Ensure interventions are implemented with fidelity across all shifts in a 24/7 environment. Monitor client progress and revise interventions as needed to promote therapeutic goals. Participate in crisis intervention planning and support de-escalation strategies. Collaboration & Interdisciplinary Teamwork Support Training of residential staff on behavior management techniques, trauma-informed care principles, and de-escalation strategies. Provide real-time coaching, modeling, and feedback to staff. Support Development of training materials and conduct regular in-service training sessions. Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, educators, and case managers. Participate in treatment team meetings and provide behavioral insight and recommendations. Consult with families/caregivers (when applicable) to support continuity of care. Behavior Planning and Progress Reviews Complete an individualized Functional Behavior Assessment and Behavior Plan for each client within 60 days. Behavior Plan problem areas, goals, objectives, and fade plan address the client's DSM five-axis diagnosis and areas identified on the functional behavioral assessment. Complete Behavior Plan Reviews minimally every 90 days of treatment. Update Treatment Plan via a TPR following a change in clinical status. Ongoing Document on Treatment Plan criteria for extinction of any restrictions and anticipated date for planned discharge. Notify Behavior Plan Committee of extinction of plan in advance. Coordinate with client to ensure continued follow up care post-discharge. Provide supportive, solution-focused review and analysis of in-home behavior logs, with assigned staff within the home. Present plan and updates to minimum quarterly Behavior Treatment Plan Committee. Start and stop therapy, collateral, and consultation sessions as scheduled. Document all client contacts and/or contacts related to case management services. Contact assigned case manager and their supervisor if client is not at home when scheduled or has been hospitalized for immediate follow-up. Communicate with hospital staff and/or hospital liaison in the event of an inpatient admission. Ensure a minimum of three contacts with post-hospitalized clients within ten days of hospital discharge. Complete a progress note for all treatment services.
