Job Description
Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavior Technician to join our team, providing essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism. This role involves implementing behavioral therapy plans, collecting data, and assisting in patient assessments to promote positive outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in behavioral health, experience working with children or individuals with disabilities, and a commitment to patient care and confidentiality. Duties Implement individualized behavioral therapy programs based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles under supervision. Collect and record accurate data on client behaviors to monitor progress and inform treatment adjustments. Assist with patient intake, assessments, and ongoing evaluations related to behavioral health and diagnostic processes. Support patients during therapy sessions, ensuring a safe and supportive environment. Maintain detailed medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and modify treatment plans tailored to each individual's needs. Educate families and caregivers about behavioral strategies and progress updates. Adhere to all safety protocols and confidentiality standards related to medical records, patient information, and HIPAA compliance. Skills Experience with behavioral therapy techniques, particularly applied behavior analysis (ABA). Prior work with children or individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder. Strong understanding of medical terminology, documentation practices, and medical records management. Ability to perform patient assessments and participate in diagnostic evaluations. Excellent data collection skills with attention to detail for tracking behavioral progress. Compassionate patient care approach with the ability to work effectively with people with disabilities. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of sensitive information. Effective communication skills for working with clients, families, and healthcare teams. Patience, adaptability, and a genuine interest in supporting individuals through behavioral health interventions.
