Job Description

Category Schools - Behavior Specialist Job Type Contract Bring your expertise and passion for supporting student growth as a full-time onsite Behavior Intervention Specialist for the 2025-2026 school year. Collaborate closely with a dedicated team, including another BIS and Special Education Administrator, to uplift students across multiple sites in a supportive district environment.
Essential Qualifications:
Background as a BCBA or licensed Special Education Teacher (Tier 3 or 4 license required for teachers) Prior experience in school, clinical, or community settings focusing on behavioral intervention Strong foundation in conducting Functional Behavior Assessments and implementation of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Familiarity with special education guidelines and IEP development Demonstrated collaboration and communication with multidisciplinary teams RBT credentials do not meet the requirements for this position
Key Responsibilities:
Consult and implement positive behavior interventions tailored to student needs Assist in programming to maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment Guide and support school staff through targeted behavior recommendations and staff training Use de-escalation skills and, if necessary, restrictive procedures to maintain safety Analyze and utilize behavioral data to inform strategies and track student progress Support the development and effective implementation of IEPs, adhering to district and regulatory protocols Serve 3-4 assigned school sites, providing consistent intervention and coaching Respond calmly and adaptively during crisis situations Ensure compliance with board policies and procedural guidelines This contract opportunity offers the chance to work Monday through Friday, typically 8:30 am to 4:10 pm, with minor variability in hours.
