Job Description

Category Schools - Behavior Specialist Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact supporting the growth and success of students as a part-time, onsite Behavior Intervention Specialist for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. This contract opportunity offers the chance to collaborate with fellow professionals across several school sites, providing expert behavioral consultation and direct support for students in need of intervention. In this role, you'll consult, communicate, and partner with educational teams to design and implement positive behavior interventions and supports. You'll work closely with another Behavior Intervention Specialist and a Special Education Administrator. Your expertise will contribute to functional behavior assessments, targeted skill reinforcement, and de-escalation techniques, maintaining a safe learning environment for all. The assignment runs from September 8, 2026, through June 10, 2027, with a schedule averaging 18 hours weekly (typically between 8:30am and 4:10pm), providing flexibility while meeting student needs.
Qualifications:
BCBA credentials or valid tier 3 or 4 license (if applying as a Special Education Teacher) Experience conducting functional behavior assessments and implementing positive behavioral interventions Ability to consult, train, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams Skilled in data-driven decision-making and individualized education planning Calm, adaptable, and able to respond effectively during crisis situations Prior experience supporting school-age students preferred
Responsibilities:
