Job Description

Category Schools - Behavior Specialist Job Type Contract Step into a pivotal role supporting student success as a Part-Time Onsite Behavior Intervention Specialist for the 2025-2026 school year. This contract position involves working collaboratively with another specialist and the Special Education Administrator, supporting multiple school sites in the area. As a Behavior Intervention Specialist, you will play an essential role in fostering positive change through individualized behavioral support and staff collaboration. Candidates who are BCBAs or have a Tier 3 or 4 Special Education teaching license are encouraged to apply.
Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Current BCBA certification or Tier 3/4 Special Education Teacher license required Proven experience in school-based behavior intervention and functional behavior assessments Strong knowledge of positive behavior supports, de-escalation, and restraining procedures Ability to work effectively across 3-4 school sites with flexibility in assignments Excellent communication and consultative skills for team-based support Capacity to train and guide staff in behavioral intervention implementation Data-driven decision making and flexibility in adapting to student needs
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct functional behavior assessments to guide interventions Develop and implement positive behavior support strategies for students Collaborate with school teams to ensure effective, compliant programming Support the development and implementation of individualized education plans Provide staff training related to behavior management Reinforce positive behaviors and utilize de-escalation strategies as needed Help maintain student and environmental safety Comply with district, state, and federal requirements for documentation and procedure Respond calmly and effectively to crisis situations Enjoy a regular schedule of approximately 18 hours per week, typically from 8:30 AM to 4:10 PM, with sites and hours adjusted as required.
