Job Description

Make a vital impact supporting students as a full-time onsite Behavior Intervention Specialist for the 2025-2026 school year. This contract opportunity allows you to join a dedicated special education team and support multiple schools in the Blaine area. Youll collaborate with another Behavior Intervention Specialist and a Special Education Administrator, playing a key role in improving behavioral outcomes for students.
Key Qualifications:
Licensed BCBA, Special Education Teacher with tier 3 or 4 licensure, or School Social Worker (RBTs are not eligible) Experience consulting and collaborating on student programming and positive behavior interventions Skilled in conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) Proficiency in developing and implementing positive behavior supports and interventions Ability to train staff on behavioral strategies and recommendations Calm, flexible problem-solver who responds effectively during crisis situations
Primary Responsibilities:
Consult, communicate, and collaborate with teams to support individualized student programming Conduct FBAs, develop and implement positive behavior supports, and track student progress Train staff members and provide ongoing recommendations for behavioral interventions Support the development and implementation of IEPs in line with district, state, and federal guidelines Maintain safety for all students and staff, using de-escalation techniques and restrictive procedures when necessary Monitor and analyze behavioral data to inform decision-making and planning for student success Ensure compliance with school policies and administrative practices Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education This position begins August 25, 2026 (with a training week), supporting students until June 10, 2027. Hours typically run from 8:30 AM to 4:10 PM, but may vary. Youll play a meaningful part in a positive, supportive environment that values your expertise. Ready to help shape student success?
